I was driving from Chicago to Milwaukee yesterday, about half way through the trip my temp gauge hit 3/4 but came back down. I didn't think anything of it because it was nearly 100 degrees outside and bad traffic. Once i got home I found the radiator cap had coolant all around it and I was about a half gallon low on coolant. Now I get out to the car and nothing. Does anyone have any thoughts. Could I have overheated without the temp gauge hitting the hot?

Check engine light. But it's been on for an O2 sensor for quite some time. I think I accidentally figured out how to output codes on the dash.

But, I have no clue. I've heard many stories about over heated liberties I'm just nervous that it's seized or major top end failure.

So problem is solved. What a weird deal. The starter wire welded / grounded itself to the chassis. No fuses blown and it some how locked the starter against the flywheel seizing the engine like I thought. Repaired the wire, everything works as normal. Not even a fuse or relay out. Didn't think this was even possible.
