In my opinion, you should do the stage 1 first.
Then do the stage 2 if you cant do both at the same time.

I'm not sure how well the stage 2 will work without the stage 1.

Stage 2 kit DOES NOT work without stage 1 kit.

The guys above are correct, Stage 2 is an add-on for Stage 1.

Just installed my stage 2 last week and removed 16 lbs of junk from the engine bay!

Regarding the stage 2... what is the best way to remove the intake tube (stock)? What tools would I need?
