My trans oil pan has some huge dents from the previous owner and curious if there are some better after market pans available? Also, since I plan on doing some off-road and its obvious that it exposed, anybody have some armor that they can recommend? Thanks!

Ken

Replacement transmission pan can be found on ebay for cheap. Also install factory transmission skid plate for future. There are several after market skid plats available (look at the KJ gasser section). I choose factory skid plat because they are cheap, good fit and made of double corrugated steel layers.

I found the best price on following:

Great! I bought the last Transmission skid plate in inventory. I'm also going to buy a new Trans pan as well which leads me to my next question. What transmission fluid should I use to replace? I used synthetic in my 1998 DOdge 5.9, but unsure if thats a good idea in the tranny. Thanks for the info!

Atf+4 ONLY!!! For our transmission. Also, pml makes a nice aftermarket transmission pan

Best price I could find since I needed enough for two full transmissions was at walmart. $4.27 a quart. I had to drive to two walmarts to find it not sold out.
