Wife called wednesday and said the jeep jerked (like being rear ended) and rpms shot up to 3k. Pulled into a safe parking lot and it shutoff on its own. Dead battery, figured decoupler failed so I ordered a new one, along with 4 new glowplugs.

Got it all installed, started it and the alternator still isn't charging. Revved it up to 1500rpms and noticed the engine was stumbling with white smoke. I drove it 2 miles to get it warmed up, put it in park and revved it and same thing. It starts and idles fine, starts stumbling around 1500 rpms and quits around 2500. Still smoked white even when warm. I charged the battery, any one have a clue?

I have no idea why your alternator isnt charging unless its completely dead.
I'd take it off and have it bench tested.

The engine stumbling at 1500 rpm could be a fuel rail pressure problem. That is, if it isnt related to alternator output/voltage.
Do you have any way of monitoring fuel rail pressure? Any trouble codes?

White smoke is not a good sign.
My first thought would be a blown head gasket or cracked head.
But if you are not loosing coolant, then I dont know.
Turbo leaking oil into exhaust maybe?

It runs fine under a load ie driving down the road. There are no codes.
I was hoping it was due to the lower voltage (11.42) but there aren't any codes for low voltage (once I charged the battery I cleared all the codes since I know that having low system voltage can throw all sorts of codes)
The battery was brand new in February and is an optima, alternator is a reman from rockauto and is only 3 years old.
Head gasket, studs, in tank pump, turbo, and injectors were done 30k miles ago. Injectors were pulled, tested, cleaned, and tested again.
All I have to read frp is torque pro, Ill throw it in tomorrow and see what the pressure reads.
