Is there no TSB'S for the Jeep Liberty's CRD. Been trying to get more recall information on the fuel head heater plug and its removal/unplugging and taping but the only reference was in the Noob Guide with a picture of replacing it with the newer design metal head. And would like to check on other recalled items on the 06 model. Done search but nothing comes up.
Thanks for your help.

As far as I know there was no fuel filter head TSB. The fix, if you have a leak at the plug for the filter head heater element, is a new head and wiring pigtail. Tape won't fix the leak in the long term.

FYI- just because an OEM makes some very poor quality parts and replaces them with an updated version, don't expect a service bulletin.

The best source of information for folks like us is a well stocked website like Lostjeeps.com

As far as recalls go, you can go to jeeps website and enter your vehicles VIN. If there are any safety recalls they will be posted. If you have a decent dealer, call them and have them run the VIN.

You must be new to Chrysler.

In circumstances where reputable car companies would issue a recall, Chrysler issues a TSB. :pepper:

And in circumstances where reputable car companies would issue a TSB (and sometimes will even fix the issue at no cost to the customer), Chrysler will blame the customer. :furious:

Cheating the EPA does not equate to bad customer service. VW has their problems, sure, and many of the same problems that the Chrysler dealers have. But Chrysler takes it to another level.

Off topic, however, Chrysler has treated me better for warranty consideration than Honda or Ford. They are the only two brands I have experience with. Honda was terrible. Chrysler has always done the right thing for my vehicles. DONT CONFUSE MY SATISFACTION WITH CHRYSLER AS BEING SATISFIED WITH MY DEALER. My dealer sucks and has to be watched like a kid with a.d.d. You never know what those retards are gonna screw up.

Fair point... However, here is a counterpoint:

Chrysler Corporate (not the dealerships) decided at some point just prior to the end of the year 2008 or so (can't remember exactly which year) that they wanted to shed as many potential problems as possible. I had a 7/70 on the CRD, and I had hardcopies of the VIP reports that showed this as active and with my name on the sheet as owner.

12/24/08, I go into a dealer for some warranty work, and the dealer informs me that my warranty is expired for mileage. The computer now shows a 3/36 instead of the 7/70, and the ONLY THINGS that the Chrysler customer service line had to say to this dealer rep or to me were: How did he get that paper? Who gave him that paper? Why does he have that paper? Where did he get that paper? You (the dealer) need to TAKE THAT AWAY and put it into a shredder RIGHT NOW WHILE I CAN HEAR IT so that the paper is destroyed. That is confidential and he shouldn't be allowed to have that.

Aside from a considerable amount of shock about this, the dealer's rep (to his credit) told her where to get off, and that not only was that paperwork my personal property and he had no right to take it, but it also was describing *my car* and therefore wasn't confidential to me anyway.

They never explained or answered anything about what had happened to the warranty information in the computer, but the company filed for bankruptcy within 60 days after that, and publicly was granted a get-out-of-anything-free pass by the judge who said that Fiat Chrysler had ZERO obligation to assume any of the debt / claims / lawsuits that might have been in action against Daimler Chrysler... So in one short sentence, this judge told anyone that was suing b/c of injury or death or should have been compensated for any reason OR had warranty coverage on a vehicle sold before the bankruptcy...

Get bent.

This is what the manufacturers love to hear: They don't have to do anything to support prior sales, b/c those are COSTS, not sales. Reputation means nothing anymore.
