Since I have replaced the engine I have noticed that if the engine is warm or I plug in the block heater the engine starts right up and purrs like a kitten which is good and normal, but when it's cold (currently about 0c/30f give or take) I can glow plug it a couple times and it just turns over and does not try to fire, but if I turn off the key and try again it fires right up and away it goes????? any ideas. Thanks.

Based on posts from other folks here, what you describe sounds completely normal.
Depending on the age and type of glow plugs you are using, you might need new ones.

I replaced them with new Etechno metallic ones when I did the install, But if it is fairly common I wont worry too much about it. Thanks.

From what I can make out this is not unusual for metal cased plugs and the main reason I've stuck with ceramics. First winter with the Etecno's? It'll be interesting to see how you fare.
