I want to purchase a leaking or damaged CRD radiator. After my HDS thermostat arrives, I plan to convert to an electric fan. I want to use a 1994-1997 4.6L Ford Thunderbird electric fan. The 4.6L T-bird fan is 18" and moves in excess of 4000 CFM. I have read that it moves as much as 4500 CFM. The T-bird fan is a larger version of the 17" Ford Taurus fan that many folks are using in many different applications. The T-bird fan is not an exact match for the Liberty radiator, but it is close........close enough. I want to use the damaged radiator to mock-up mounting brackets for the fan. It'll will be much easier fabbing brackets with the radiator on my workbench. I can design and build the brackets after work in the evenings instead of the weekend. And my wife's CRD won't have unnecessary downtime while I am fabbing the brackets.

The damaged radiator must still have it's original shape (not twisted from a collision). The tanks must still have the fan shroud mounts intact. A radiator chewed by a fan from a failed fan bearing would work fine. I have seen a couple of those on this site lately.

I attached a link to a Four Seasons brand T-bird fan below. The 4-seasons fan has the same blade design as the OEM Ford fan. Not all brands have the OEM design blades. The same fan can be had from RockAuto for $84. That's over $60 less than the Liberty 3.7L e-fan that probably moves less air.

Still looking for a damaged radiator. Mountainman disposed of his. Deeprecon1 answered my PM saying he still has his damaged radiator and would ship it to me for shipping costs. I responded, but haven't heard back from him. It has been 10 days. Maybe the PM function isn't working? Anyone else have a damaged radiator they no longer need? Thanks.

PM seems to be working but the function that used to send you an email to the effect that you have an unread PM has not worked for me in ages. Hence unless you both log in and notice that you have a new message a PM can stay unread for quite some time.

The forum email contact method works much better.
