This is the third time that I had to change it, and each time it was a nightmare to remove. First the plastic part broke off into the wire socket, took almost an hour to dig it out without destroying the wire socket, then the brass nut broke off leaving the threaded section stuck into the block. I remember last time too, it took me almost 2 hours with vice grips getting the broken stub out turning it like 1/32 of a turn until it was loose. I was almost at the point of removing the alternator and power steering pump.

Why is this sensor such a piece of crap? Does anyone make an after market sensor that is made of steel/stainless? or that doesn't break apart when removing the old unit? :furious:
