Help! can I raise the engine up enough by loosening the motor mounts to get the oil pan down. Has anyone ever done this?

You dont even have to raise the engine to remove the pan.

Just drail all of the oil, unbolt it, but leave 4 bolts in part way. Then take a plasma cutter to the pan.

I have to replace a piston in the engine, i do not want to destroy it. it sounds like someone wants to be funny.

If you have to replace a piston, then just plan on pulling the whole motor out.
Will make the job a lot easier.
