Oh, btw, I haven't updated my profile, I now have 220,000 miles on it, and to bring u up to speed, I bought this jeep with 200,000 on it and the owner had never touched it. It had factory everything, and to make things worse the guy had run conventional 15-40 shell Rotella in it all the time he owned it. He said it was running rough so he took it apart but couldn't figure out anything. First thing I found was the intake ports were so clogged you couldn't even stick a pencil in the silver dollar sized ports. Also about half the rockers were wore slap out, they wouldn't even touch the valve stem. About half the valves I had to drive open with a shop hammer because they had so much gunk and tar junk, but when I drove them open they stayed open. I got a spray bottle and sprayed kerosene around each valve stem every day. Btw, I did not pull head, just intake with cam assembly had been removed when I bought it. After a cpl weeks I walked in my shop and the valves stuck open had closed, but when I hit them with a hammer they stayed.so every day I walked through my shop I sprayed valves with kerosene. I never heard it run, had no idea what it was gonna do. So to keep from sinking a bunch of money in a dead engine, I had already bought a low mileage engine cheap, just in case. I put a new timing belt on, cleaned all ports, and used a small propane torch and burned the gunk out of all ports.i pulled the used rockers from the second engine, and I take assembly with cams, cause my old cams were shot running on worn out rockers. I zero'd everything in set my cams, marked them, and installed cam pulleys, which everyone said I couldn't do, but those cam shafts are tapered and the pulley will not move, but even if it did I had each marked so I could tell if it moved. Stuck it all together and it purred like a kitten for the last 2 years until yesterday. But this engine still has lots of life in it, I know some disagree, but besides the insufficient top end, these little engines are tough as a rock, I have a programmer on mine, and drive the dog out of it. It is the only automobile I know of on the highway with a wet sleeve in it. I have a perfect low mileage engine setting in my shop, if I ever need it, I will stick a new head gasket on, put the factory head bolts, and torque them to the torque specs of a stud and drive on. I think back a cpl years ago when I was on here several guys did test and discovered the factory bolts did not stretch as we were told from the professionals. I know what has held up for me, and I promise nobody could drive harder than me. I DO use the best full synthetic oil, with a quart of full synthetic Lucas Oil treatment. I change oil around 10-12,000 miles.
