Wow, I just flashed my 06 Liberty CRD with YETI's mild tune. Super good tune, I just went for a trip. I got 11.5L/100km at -10 celsius with 22km/h crosswinds (75% highway, 25%city) Heavy throttle passing cars n stuff. I do get a heavy shudder at 1800RPM in 4th and 5th gear. Anyway to fix this and get the smoothness back?

While there are ways to adjust the tune to reduce shudder, I find it more practical to slightly back off the throttle at the shift points there the TCC applies and then ease back into the throttle.

Or install a better torque converter.

I had no shudder with the original tune, so if I tweak the injection at part throttle, would it help eliminate the shudder?
I will eventually upgrade the TC but I don't have 2000$ to shed right now. (don't know if I ever will! )

You must lowering at the desired torque the transmission map in the 4th and 5th gear at desred rpm

Thank you Yeti :D , I did this last night actually I used titanium and accessed the TC limiter #2 and modified page 4,5 and 6, added 100 to the stock torque values of the original file and I'll tweak by trial and error until I find a compromise between power, torque, economy and comfort. Makes sense? Or am I totally going in the wrong direction with this?

Also I do not know how to make custom drivers for Titanium like you did yeti, so I don't have access to all those maps. My 06 liberty is a North American 808.

You are Right , is the right solution , but remember , the gear is 1st,2nd low ,2nd ,3rd ,4th ,5th and reverse , the drivers is in the DRT folder , you must open the cxxx_808 whith notepad and edit , but is useful in table windows , you can do the same in graphic mode , lock the cursor and with plus and less button increase or decrease , or select a section right clik at the start point and right clik at the end point , you can increase point to point or in % , but I prefer to work point to point

Do you have any good pointers for a tune aimed towards the best fuel economy on the highway? My KJ is almost stock, I have a conical air filter instead of the stock airbox, EGR blocked off, the butterfly vane removed in it and 2.5" glasspack muffler. Aiming for 30 mpg or more (around 7.8L/100km)

Right now I'm getting like 11L/100km, I usually do 120km/h on the highway, I do not tow trailers.

go in the injector pulse map , the 12 map in sequence , then watch in tabel mode , click visualize and then increment .

select the range starting from1400 rpm at 40% load and ending at max rpm range to 85% load

then click interpolation , select band surface and in the value table insert 4 -10 in up and down form , you obtain an increase that start at 40% load and end at 85% in all rpm range that start with 4% and end at 10% , then select the rest of the rpm load 1400 to 4500 in the 90-100 load and increase it at 10 % to finish , do it for every 12 map .

in this mode you increase the torque of 4-5 % at low fuel request and you can drive with less load at same rpm in the gas pedal , in this condition you can gain in fuel economy , but remember you have more fuel and if you drive aggressive the fuel consumption increase

And if I increase the torque limiters value by 4 to 5 % in the same range would it improve economy even more?

no , because you increase the max torque , the torque limiter it's in Nm/10 , example 4400 it's 440 nm , increase this limiter in point not in % , when you increase the injector pulse in this mode you fool the ecu and the torque limiter must modificated ,
taking this into account , example :
max injector pulse is for 96 mm3 , you add a 10% and reach the 105 mm3
then 400 nm need approximately 93 mm3 , round it up to 96 mm3
then the torque limiter think to limit at 400nm , but you have 440nm

I do not increase the last gear so much due to the original TCC , but example , in my jeep I have increased the torque limiter at 4500 point at high rpm .....after the 2200 rpm ...ha ...do not trust in the driver , read in graphic mode the right rpm signed early every torque map for every gear , in the map after the first fuel limiter you have a second fuel limiter that limit too I have not touched in the tune present in the forum , but you can see the limitation and if you want at high rpm you can increase it at 10000 point , but not entry value , leave original at least the 3 point for every band and the 4200 and so on rpm

remember you do not always have max torque even if the gas pedal ask 450 nm , at high rpm you need HP , at the end is always fuel requested with conversion

Need to plug the MAF sensor back in when using a tune with deletes to prevent P0102

Yep, seriously late here.

:BINGO: HOLY SH*T! I just made a tune that gave me 8.1L / 100km ! I drove for 100km did 4 agressive car pass and drove mostly @ 120km/h with no shudder and plenty of torque!

What I did to achieve this...

(Note: I used Yeti's Mild tune 1.02 as a base model)

-Upped fuel rail pressure and fuel rail limiter by 100 points
-Upped the overboost slightly (can't remember but I think 4%)
-Upped the injection at part throttle from 4 to 10% as instructed by Yeti in a previous post (will add quote at bottom of post)
-Phase of injection set a 0 across the grid
-(Boost X rpm) Giant dip has been smoothed out on first map and then copied to the following 2 maps
-Fuel during accel has been increased
-Upped turbo pressure a bit in higher load situation (from load 44 @ 1400rpm)
-Upped torque limiter 1
-Tweaked torque limiter 2 (left file 1,2,3 around the same just rounded up the numbers)
file 4,5,6 received different values ( for example: file #6 received, from 1200rpm to 2200rpm, a decreased to 3000 points but I increased it to 4000 by 2600rpm and up)

My logic behind this is, the less you ask torque from your engine, the lower the engine load. You only want to ask torque from your engine during acceleration @ higher RPM, so at lower RPM I decided to lower the torque request. Please feel free to tell me if I'm wrong.

I can make the .BIN file available to download if anyone is interested to look at it. Maybe we could improve this even more and make the ultimate ECO tune!

Also, I have a request, does anyone have a more complete driver for the CXXX808 models? I can't read maps for sh*t, and for some reason ECM titanium does not let me modify my drivers. (won't save) With this I could do a more complete tune.

this is satisfaction , build your tune and understand what are you doing , but next time post your file first to load it , for a double check , now I'm courious to see it

I had the chance to test my tune a bit more today. We had to bring the dogs to the vet, I drove 153.2km I consumed 16.2L of fuel. This totals 10.5L/100km, I was rather dissapointed... what I don't understand is why the CRD's economy fluctuates so much from one day to another.

I am aiming for a tune that gives an economy of 8L/100km or less, and I know for a fact that this little 2.8L 4 banger can achieve this!

Hi kouik,

sorry for my offtopic, actually i´m testing two stroke engine oil in my CRD. I started one fuel tank ago, now i´m driving the second tank with it.

I startd at first with a mix of 0,25 percent of the whole tank (150ml for 60l) and for the second filling i increased the amount of the oil up to 0.50 percent, which means 300ml at a full tank.

After 140km my fuel consumption sank down from 13,9l to 13,0l at the BC... Also with city and highway (130km/h) driving....

I use this oil -> http://adamol1896.at/en/produkte/adamol ... -150-1l-15

bye,
samse

Unless you have diagnostic tools, sensors and a Dyno, it's addictive trying to figure out the best setup due to the mixed results you can get... Use these tunes to customize and get more juice from the engine or simply go to GDE and get the real deal. I just stick with the setup that works best for me and definitely improves power and economy over stock.

Weight, fuel quality, driving style, temperatures, stuck calipers, transmission shift points and all sort of crazy things affect the efficiency of these Jeeps... I would not care much as long it's on the 10 l/100km range...

Your absolutly 100% right! But I tend to be a tad bit OCD when it comes to fuel efficiency.

So has anyone done anything with the 526? Tried searching and there's only a few mentions of it here and there but nothing major. I'd like one similar to yeti's 808 mild tune. I could try doing it myself but don't know if I could figure it out and I can't find a source to get emc titanium.

I just installed the Weeks stage 1 and 2 EGR kits.

I tried this tune linked on the first page to get rid of the codes:
Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02) - 450Nm, https://www.dropbox.com/s/bp92djgcim1z9 ... -450Nm.bin

The codes were still on.

Inspecting this eeprom file and changing addresses 0E4945=0 instead of decimal 17 and 0E48A5=0 instead of decimal 17 fixed the codes of P0403 and P1140.

Otherwise thanks for great tune Yeti.

And thanks for all the great info on this "listsevr" contributed by you all

If this is not the most current file then never mind.

ECM Titanium is available (for free) directly from the developer (Alientech in Italy). All you need to do is register for a free account, and you can download any and all of their software (including Titanium).

http://www.alientech-to.it/index.php/en/download-area/software

I'm not missing something, am I?

I just received my MPPS cable via Amazon and am looking forward to rolling up my sleeves. Thanks to all who have and are contributing!

EDIT: I was missing something. I finally got a chance to install and open the software provided for free, and it seems to just be some sort of file manager for the actual ECM Titanium software. Sorry about the mixup.
