My Jeep won't shift into 4wd drive anymore and I just happened to find a 242 on Craigslist for $125. Are there any differences between the 242 in the Grand Cherokee and the one in my Libby (Are the splines the same, do I have to change the speedo gear, etc.)? Or would it be a straight swap? I'm thinking about buying it with the idea that I can open it up, make sure everything is ok inside and/or replace parts as needed, without having to cripple mine until I need to.

So...... does anyone know how compatible they are?
