Yeti, (and all you other experts) I've read the whole thread....38 pages. NICE WORK!!!! Loaded the "Yeti's 808 EGR/FCV/DTC code delete + Mild tune (vers 1.02)" last night in my stock '05, 2.8. LOVE IT! I now how a little TC shutter and will soon install a HD Florida TC.

A few questions:
-Will these 808 tunes all work with both 5v and 7v GP's? I now have the 5V with the new relay and dealer ECM update. I don't want to burn up my 5v GP's
-I plan on removing the EGR and cooler. Is it ok to run with the hardware on the car and connected until I get the junk removed?
-Do these tunes make the EGR inoperable or simple just ignore the signals?
-I've been running for years with the MAF unhooked, it is ok to hook it back the the EGR hardware still installed?

Thanks all in advance!
Tim

It is safe to hook back your MAF sensor, the values in the ecu has been set to the lowest settings, so in a nutshell it means that the FCV won't close its vane to let the engine vaccum EGR gases in your intake. But even with your MAF plugged or unplugged there is always a small percentage of soot that can get pulled from the EGR under WOT. The trick here is to delete the EGR or at least block it with a plate.

Hi everyone. Got my 2005 Liberty just a few days ago (european, with manual gearbox). Today downloaded ECU maps. And looks like I have a version not yet seen in this thread. The "magical" bytes are 1037374521P_399422, so I assume the version is 521. Would gladly send it to the author of this thread if needed (to add to the list of OEM tunes). And of course would be very grateful if somebody more knowledgeable agreed to take a look at it and told me if it's similar to one of the already tuned maps. I'm primarily interested in EGR delete.

ECM titanium successfully identified my ECU maps as 521. I'll try comparing maps inside with some others like for example stock 808, and if they are similar then I should be able to copy changes from Yeti's 808 tune. I don't want to bother Yeti until I put enough effort into it myself :-) But if he wanted to see my maps I would gladly send them to him  And I think it would be a good idea to put my maps to the list of original maps on the first page.

Isn't it frustrating when you get a weird number? I plugged in my 2006 Sport and found 1037512035P53363K0 (which I guess is 035?), which also hasn't been mentioned, so I'm getting ready to mess with figuring out how things compare to Yeti's 808.

EDIT: Hmmm... plugging in and doing the read again, even though the above number is the number found in the "bin" file, MPPS says the "Chrysler File Number" is 10377377516 (which is mentioned as a number others have had). Is the Chrysler File Number fairly irrelevant? I ask because that number has been mentioned in this thread, while the number in my bin file has not.

I'm just wanting to shut of the EGR asap so I'm not continuing to gunk up my motor (and will do more exploration with the fun stuff when I get some time).

It is important because the maps are generally at different addresses within the tune. Typically the structure is similar, meaning the maps are in the same order within the tune, but again at different addresses. For example, I have only been tuning 808 software since thats what my jeep uses, but I was able to open an 811 tune in WinOLS and find the corresponding tunes very quickly even though the addresses were not the same.

I would likely follow what MPPS is telling you. Then when you do a driver search in ECMTitanium, abort the auto search and manually select the vehicle type(Manufacturer: Jeep Model: Cherokee) and then restart the search. It will then list all possible jeep cherokee options, and you will see that there is a 516 driver in there. Open that driver and see if the maps correspond to what is shown in Yeti's map location thread.

Compared 811 stock tune to Nick's EGR/FCV delete. There were 5 changes. In 4 places a byte was set to 00 and in the last place 3 bytes were modified. In my 521 original map the first 4 locations seemed to be identical to the ones in 811, so I modified them accordingly. The 3 bytes in the last location were changed by ECM Titanium automatically. That's why I assumed it's a checksum and didn't touch them. Since I'm a total noob in this, could somebody more knowledgeable please review my modifications? Here are the links to original and modified files:
Original: https://www.dropbox.com/s/klgiippphgp4sz7/Cherokee_original.Bin?dl=0
Modified: https://www.dropbox.com/s/11lyztz6ctokekq/CHEROKEE_MOD.MOD?dl=0

P.S. Tried comparing Yeti-808-EGR_FCV_Delete-Stock_Tune to OEM 808 tune. There were way more than 5 differences. 25 to be exact. What other modifications were done there?

Thanks in advance for help.

Does anyone know why the 809 and 513 has such a big difference with the programmed Turbo pressure value and Over boost value compared to the 808 and 811 ECU? Does the European Cherokee have a different turbo than its American counter part?

This is the 808 turbo pressure and over boost value,

This here is the 809 turbo pressure and over boost value,

Is there an advantage over one to another? I also noticed a slight difference under the BoostXrpm values, but nothing major.

It's a new management for preserve the turbo , and at the same time a GP's management update , with low turbo you can see more degree in the SOI map "Start Of Injection"

I have updated(finally) my stock tune for the following, EGR Delete(done in two places on the map per another example I found online), FCV delete, and the P0610 "vehicle options error" that seems to happen during a jumpstart.

In case anyone else has the odd software version I have, here is my modified files:

I believe that there are some differences in the turbo. I know that the guys who make the WickedWheel said that the factory US turbo was a piece of crap but that replacement turbos and euro turbos were better.

It wouldn't suprise me, does anyone have a proof, like different part numbers for the turbos?

I don't have the part numbers but do know that there is one version where the compressor wheel threads directly onto the shaft and another which has a nut that holds it onto the shaft. The threaded wheel is the one found on the factory US turbo and is the crappier of the two. Supposedly the euro and replacement turbos use the nut.

The guys who made the WickedWheel said that they stopped selling their threaded versions be cause the quality control was so poor on those turbos.

@Mass- Thank you for the info

@ anyone who knows- I have another question.

From what I understand, our CRD's uses 3 injection events, a pre-injection, main injection and post injection.
The Pre-injection is supposed to lower engine rattle, the main injection is...well, powers the Jeep forward and the post injection is for NOX reduction by increasing ECT temp. Is this information correct? I believe some of you might call it, "pilot injection event" and I believe there is two of them.

I am looking to eliminate at least one and if possible two of those pilot event to reduce fuel consumption. Does anyone know the MAP address related to those pilot injection events? (808 ECU)

My plan is to eliminate those pilot injection events, increase main injection timing by 10 degrees, raise the rail pressure at high demand, decrease it a low power demand and increase boost pressure to obtain a better burn. If all works well I should obtain a tune that can give me a consumption of 8l/100km.
Hopefully.
