I installed JBA's UCA on my 05 CRD and have had two intermediate axle shafts and cv axles.

After the first install I noticed a vibration but put off looking at the problem. After seeing the wear I guessed I has installed something wrong or it was just a worn 10 jeep with 155,000 miles on it.
Well, I changed this axle and cv out and in less than three weeks I am having the same problem.

Is the new geometry causing this failure?

Thanks,

Tom

Is it always the passenger side CV axles failing?

When you replace front CV axles make sure you get parts for a CRD or 4cyl liberty.

Flash, Yes on the passenger side failure. The drivers side is rock solid. No wear at all.

When I installed the JBA upper control arms I kept the factory axle. Did I screw up?
Marlins web site mentions his modified axle. With only a 1.5" OME lift I was under the impression that I could keep the axle factory.
With two failures something is wrong :(

I literally just pulled the front diff to correct the same issue with my 05 CRD. Looking at my diff while it's on the bench I see a worn bushing inside the axle tube, have you replaced yours? When you assembled the two shafts together, did you apply a Moly type extreme pressure grease? If you don't, you'll be replacing shafts often.

I will try and post pictures later today.

To have driven 140,000 on a factory suspension and never had any grease in the location you reference and then lift and say grease is the determining factory I say WRONG. Thanks for your opinion.
