It looks like it was deleted. Does anyone know why? It was very interesting.

It was deleted by admin I believe. If you want drawings you will have to personally email me at this point.

Will do Sarge.

Can admin explain WHY it was deleted? It was a really great option, and isn't that the point of this forum? It it was tempers, why not delete the posts of the offenders?

This is what happens when sponsors see you as a threat to what they do. Sarge had a creative alternative and well thats not allowed....sad as a learking stocker of the site I saw some engineering that came out functional and without currently any issues. Admin should at least share why the post was taken away, forums are for community, but this is obvioysly a business forum to some, not a community forum of people helping one another. Keep up the creativity Sarge.

How much does sponsorship cost? Maybe I will sponsor Sarge myself.

Wow, I'm shocked and very disappointed at L.O.S.T., this is a sad day. This was a legitimate thread where Sarge was kind enough to share his design with everyone by putting it in the public domain. Removing the thread in it's entirety is unprecedented and a loss to the whole community.

There was absolutely nothing inflammatory or contentious in this thread so I can only assume that someone must have gone bleating to the mods that he was advertising simply because he made a single offer to help others out in return for a modest payment to cover his costs. Of course, the fact that he is providing a great, low cost and competitive solution to our thermostat problem could also be a factor?

So, I wonder who could have been the driving force behind this action? Does anyone have any ideas?

We've seen plenty other vendors kick start their concept and initial sales here without being interfered with like this for example SEGR, Kap's stat mod, Geordi, the guy that did the bushings for the CAT filter, GDE, Sasquatch, Etechno1 and 4J/1G to name but a few. None of their early threads have been removed. If we were prepared to support these initiatives should we not also be prepared to support what Sarge was trying to achieve here?

Our support of such innovation is crucial otherwise otherwise no one will bring their ideas to the table. The key here is identifying the transition from a community endeavour to a commercial venture where we expect the vendor to pay for his advertising. Sarge wasn't there yet and I'm not even sure he was heading in that direction.

I could have understood if he was guilty of continual and relentless thread crapping and self promotion (spam) in any thread that contained the mere mention of the cooling system but this is far from the case.

Thanks for your inspiration Sarge

Sarge should post it all again but this time as a "how-to" thread detailing the steps for anyone to make their own.
Just like Kap did.

Interesting - Admin's tend to ignore CRD land just because they're not active here.

the only one floating around on a regular basis is Darby and he hasn't logged in since Dec.

someone must have complained.

that said - I think the only issue would be posting a price and saying it's for sale - that makes you a vendor -

just working on the design is a fairly common part of the forum.

I thought this forum was for the sharing of thoughts and / or ideas when applicable??? So, if you come up with a new or modified design that may be better or cheaper than a paying vendor, you are not allowed to post or share.....Censorship at its finest...Very sad to see this!!!! I really thought LOST was better than this??? :(

The way some people cry and snivel about Turbo Diesel Freaks Tstat makes me wonder why those threads don't get deleted. I have never seen folks boohoo about things they've never even purchased.

its the difference i guess from a forum that is member based and sponsors keep the site alive, or its a forum that was a revenue maker for the gang of eight (or how ever many...LOL), when sites go rogue and start deleting posts with no warning, that's when you know its the later! sad to see, Sarge keep up the good work man! admin, at least do your due diligence and share with him why you deleted it...and if you don't care to, at least have a common policy of managing the forums. being a forum owner, i know the good ol boy system gets in the way! your using a phpbb forum software, i know first hand there is a warning option for posts in the Admin Control Panel that could have been used to let Sarge know....im done with my rant now! so how about them thermostat housings now! :pepper:

What a bunch of BS! Whoever took it down should put it back. There no reason for this blatent censorship.

The mods/owners should be more concerned about the "this site may be hacked" message that appears above lostjeep Google search results, not the free flowing idea sharing that has made this site a necessity for CRD owners.

being an ex moderator on a jeep forum here in the UK, I was constantly told to remove any threads containing modifications/ design principles? hence why I am no longer involved. Why? maybe for legal reasons. L.O.S.T has always been favorited for freedom of speech and the expertise of CRD owners on your side of the pond.

Sarge-please repost as a how to. List nothing about offering it as a service. People will message you, and word will get around on its own if it's a service you want to provide, and you won't be guilty of advertising.

If dollars are the guiding factor for the decision makers of this forum and the reason for its existence, then we can expect all of this fantastic information gathered here to disappear one day. Vehicles don't last a lifetime and neither does a sponsor.

I am glad that the ARP studs research thread was not part of todays way of decision making. Because if it were then that research would probably have been deleted. It was a great forum..... it just sickens me to see it go down like this.

I've no doubt the admins were approached on this by someone. What's odd, is GDE is fine with the DIY tune thread. Weeks is fine with the DIY egr fix threads. Why are Tstat threads a no-no?

Just so the mods see this thread, I would appreciate it if you all reported this post. If enough of us do, it will get their attention, and they can post here what Sarge did wrong, and we can start another thread that meets their requirements.
