Hi guys

This is my first post here.
I recently purchased a 2008 KK sport 3.7L

I do some often offroading, medium level so far.
My jeep is completely stock so far (except skid plates and cooper AT tires, 235.70.16)
I really need to lift it, i roll with 3 other Toyota land cruisers and i'm getting humiliated so far :roll:

I got a proposal from a local installer (Israel) to do a 3" lift

He suggested to install:
- 4 Oldman EMU HD springs
- in the front - bilstein
- in the back - fox shocks, made for wrangler, according to him will give me a 71cm stretch

This specific installer has very little experience with liberty jeep (there are very few guys here that are familiar with libertys), he says he installed this setup on dozens of Grand Cherokee's and it's great

What do you say?
is this a good set up?

bare in mind that i'm outside the US, if i could i would order the platinum 4" from jba, but it would cost me more than double because of shipping and killer taxes we have here

Your help will be appreciated!

The springs and front shocks look good......the rear shocks....well I haven't seen that yet.

Another question:
How badly to i need to replace the UCA?
Can i keep the stock ones for a while or is it just something i have to do when i install my lift?

As far as UCAs depends on how high you are lifting it, generally if at 2.5 to 3 inches stock arms will get by, when going over that height then you need them

The guy said it's going to take my UCA to the max stress possible
I'm definitely going to replace them, but I guess it's going to take me a while to find someone that can bring them in his luggage to avoid shipping and taxes

I have to say that a couple of guys that own libertys here in Israel said that your econno lift is the best way to go.

What do you think about the springs shocks combo I was suggested?

if you are going to do the lift, just spend the little extra and change the UCA. The stock may last a week or even never give you a problem. it just sucks to have to remove everything again to do the UCA and get another alignment. just my opinion.

it may hurt the wallet a bit more, but JBA is the way to go for UCA's. its a year warranty, and they've lasted literally thousands of jeep liberty's. a much better solution then going to "franks welding shop next door and him just stick welding metal together". as far as the shocks go, get more information on the shocks and report back. fox in the rear sounds comfortable, but a pain if valved to stiff or to short of a stroke.

removing the sway bar and extending brake lines are a must if you wheel frequently. night and day difference on and off road!

You really only need the a-arms if you go over 3". OME 927/731 will get you 2.5". We need more specs on the rear shocks, but fox is good. Some claim they ride a little stiff on the road though.

If you eventually get the control arms you can move up to about 3.5". You'll have some contact at that point though.

Sorry it's all in standard measurements. I'm on my phone and it's a royal pain to find those conversions for metric.

I think i'm going to go with a OldMan EMU set of springs and shocks, see how much that meets my needs.
Later on i can add clevis plates + change the UCA.

Continuing this thread, I've assembled my self a shopping list, can you guys tell me if there is something i missed or is there something that can be skipped\saved

My liberty is mostly stock as you can see from the photo:

ATH front shackle mounts
3 skid plates

OK so for the stuff i'm about to purchase

Springs:
OME 927/731
Question - the front is HD and the rear is MD right?
I don't have a steel bumper, will the ride be too harsh?
I'm using my jeep as a daily driver, but for only 10 miles per day - the rest of my drives are off road

Shocks:
OME Nitrocharger shocks
i was thinking about the N132L model, is that wise?

- JBA upper control arm
- JBA top plates
- 0.375 clevis (from JBA)
- 2 rear spring isolators (from JBA)
- Front and rear bumpstops (from JBA)

Sorry if i got some of the terms wrong, i'm still learning the material

Is there something i missed?

iF YOU ARE ADDING MORE LIFT WITH THE TOP PLATE AND CLEVIS THEN YOU WILL NEED THE JBA UCAS AS WELL , YOU WILL BE IN THE 3.5 RANGE AS FAR AS AMOUNT OF LIFT

Thanks for the tips, it's a huge help.

After some more research it seems that I can't get the ome 132L shocks in my country.
From what I read the ironman shocks are also long at least as the ome.
Should I get them or just go with the regular ome shock?

If so, is the shock in the ironman catalog listed under the kk the one I need to get or is there another one that is the longer one?
