Can't help with the slider question...
But for Pics you need to upload them to a Pic hosting site like Photobucket.
Once the Pic is there, then copy the "Direct" Link from the Pic over there, and then click the "IMG" above. Paste the direct link in between the ] and [.
Example: [img ]Paste link here(IE;http ://i366.photobucket.com/albums/oo10/Bump009.jpg~original)[/ img]
When you submit the post the Pic will show up like this.

Your welcome.
So it is the wind deflector that is not raising. Sounds like the springs came loose. The SM does not talk about the springs specifically, but they are shown in one of the drawings.
Here is how to remove the deflector assembly.
At each corner there are 3 screws. 2 outside the deflector(toward the side), and one under the mesh in the corner. In Pic 3 you posted above, with it lifted, you can access the inside one with an offset screwdriver. There is also a center support screw you will need to remove.
Once the screws are out you can lift the front of the deflector assembly up and remove the deflector assembly from the rail. Note the placement of the deflector assembly tabs in relation to the rail (one on top, one below the rail)so you can get it back in correctly.
Once the deflector assembly is up you should be able to see the springs.

I do not have a slider so I can not be 100% on this... But the above is derived from the SM.

If you need a new spring, it would have to be after market. I do not see a part # for it in the manuals.

Being a sky slider owner myself, I've never seen this happen. Does everything else function correctly? How about if you put the sky slider forward first, then put it in the back position?

It doesn't matter what way I open it. The wind deflector doesn't come up. Not a huge issue but something I would like to get sorted, will have a look today and also installing the weather strip to hopefully reduce wind noise

Not to hijack this thread, but is that the Detour backbone mount on your bumper? Didn't realize a winch could mount so cleanly with the plastic bumper.

No, it is not a detours backbone. It is my own design. The trimming of the bumper took a long time. But was worth it in the end. Part of the reason it looks so clean is I cut rectangles out of the top of the bumper for the rear feet of the winch. This allowed the bumper skin top to cover 1/2 of the plate.

This was a bumper skin test fit Pic, that is why it is crooked.

Took the wind deflector off yesterday, both springs either side weren't fitted, on trying to reconnect I noticed that the housing on one side of the spring but for both springs had broken, so the spring wouldn't hold, hoping that with a little bit of superclue/mitre mate it should fix the holder and the springs should work. I also fitted the weather strip which has made a huge difference and may also fit it into the roof lining internally to see if that helps at all.

Glad you were able to find the problem. Do you have Pics you can show us?
BTW: I apologize for the hijack earlier in the thread...
