Hi everyone.

I've been lurking and reading for a while. This community has been a huge help to me, so this is my small way of giving back.

Lets's face it, removing the fan shroud in our liberty CRD's is a PITA. So I sorted out a way to make it easier the second time around. This is important because now you can get it out of the way to change belts, take off the fan, etc with ease.

First. Cut the shroud in half. I chose a interlocking type cut in hopes it would, well, you know, interlock.

Next you need to drill a few holes to secure the bottom half of the shroud.

Fist on the lower tab to keep the shroud down.

Then on the outer edges near the tabs to ensure the lower shroud stays open.

Now drop the bottom half in place and secure it using zip ties.

First a zip tie around the sway bar.

Then a zip tie on each side. The tabs drop into grooves that hold the shroud in place. Behind these grooves is a slit perfect for a zip tie. So run one through behind then circle back through the drilled hole. Viola, should secured.

The top half of the shroud is secured using the screws as usual and requires no modification. So no pictures provided.

I hope this helps.
