Hey crew,

Just finished testing my wiring harness for my injectors with a noid. The reason for the test is that I have a p0204. Reseted it a couple of times and it still it pops up. No engine light.

After testing with noid, all wires are firing in the same pattern which eliminated the wiring harness. What was also interesting is that unplugging the other injectors one at a time, the engine ran rough which was expected. However when I unplugged number 4 it ran just slightly worse. Good indication that injector is the issue I suppose.

I have ordered a new injector as the cost to get one serviced vs a new one was the same. I have also got a new copper and o ring from idpart.

Couple of questions:

1 - whilst I am waiting for my new one, can I pull the existing one out, give it a clean and re-use the existing o-ring and washer?? Assuming it's an copper washer, I will atleast need to replace this i suppose. Am I correct?

The reason for this is to just test to see if a clean will fix the issue. If yes then I have a spare injector. If no then ones on its way.

2- just reading on the forum, I assume once the new one arrives, I will need to email the numbers to GDE to retune my eco tune. Is this correct??

Cheers

Chris

The copper washer is a one time use crush washer. So no you wouldnt be able to pull #4 and clean it and re use the same washer. It will leak. Usually the local dealer will have them or a diesel shop. They are the same ones used in the common rail big trucks

if you want to know your injector health , you need to take them to a fuel injection shop for testing . also very important , must clean injector cup prior to installing coper washer , don't over tighten injector, hold down the bolt , its easy to strip threads!
