Oil light flashing intermittent

Just flashing all of a sudden.
Not sure why.

1st thing to do is replace the oil sending unit, they can go bad. Mine did this a couple years ago, replaced it with a new part from Autozone and it has never done it again.... :wink:

If it still does it with a new sending unit, then you need to hook up a gauge and check actual oil pressure or read it with an advanced scanner.... :idea:

I would not drive it till you have this resolved; low oil pressure can be catastrophic!!! :dead:

1st check oil pressure with mechanical guage.If more then 3psi at idle at full operating temp and at least 30psi at 3000rpm's replace oil pressure sending unit,if not you need to have the engine rebuild.

Never replace the oil pressure sending unit without checking the pressure with a mechanical guage.

Only replace the sending unit with 1 from the dealer.The aftermarket ones are junk and 50% do not work right out of the box.
