2012 Liberty Latitude edition. Just finished installing the OME lift, purchased from JBA. Went with 927 and 731 springs, OME shocks and terraflex bumpstops up front. Was sitting at 18" front and 19" rear, now at 21" even all around. Perfect stance and improved ride, highly recommended.

Anyway, need to replace the 235/60R18 goodyears, and want to keep the 18" wheels. Pretty much settled on 255/60R18, which is ~30" tall. Choice is between: Nitto Terra Grappler, General Grabber AT2, Hankook Dynapro ATM as far as AT types. Looking for user inputs on these 3 choices. I see a few members are using this size successfully. Also may consider duratracks, but the nearest size is 265/60R18, which is not recommended for a 7" wide wheel, although I do see some using it as well.

I have Duratracs and I love them. Probably won't change, but never say never you know?i can't see why you can't run them on a 7" wide wheel. We do it with the larger sidewalls at the 10.5" wide.

Anyways, I've heard great things about all those tires. Nitto makes a great offroad tire, and the terra grapplers keep that trend. Pricey, and my uncle burned through them on his HD Ford, but that could also be his driving style. General Grabber might be the cheapest there (I haven't checked prices in a while and I'm too lazy to do that now lol). They're really good tires, most people love them. I forget which tread patter the AT2 is though. Hankooks I was looking into before my durstracs. Everyone that has them loves them. Great up here in the snow during winter.

Thanks BMX for the response. Your duratracs are 30.7" dia, do you notice any issues with acceleration or anything? Also, they're rated for a 6.5 - 8" rim. The nearest size in 18" is 265/60R18, which is 30.5" dia, almost the same as yours, but because they're 265, they're rated for a 7.5 - 9.5" rim, although I've seen them on 7" with no problems. Since the factory tires are 29.1" dia, I'm trying to not deviate too far as to upset any of the electronics, etc. I figure 30-31" max dia. would be ok.

The kk is my fishing buggy so I'm looking for a tire that does well on our beaches more than anything. This typically means a less aggressive tread, basically a street tire, but I also want some snow capability as well.

We should have a Long Island KK get together at demo or sore thumb sometime.

So far no problems with the 245/75-16s. They killed some power and mileage, but it's doable. On average I see anywhere from 11-14mpg. Going upstate camping last summer I averaged 16.5mpg (I push, I normally roll 75-90mph on the interstate and throughways. On the island it's 70-80mph). My next set of tires will be 265/75-16 (probably Duratracs). They do great for me on the beaches and all the snow we have.

Looking at the sizes, I have a feeling it's just not enough sidewall with the larger rims. I mean if you're comfortable mounting it, by all means go for it. My duratracs never failed me, I normally air down to 15-20 psi, sometimes about 23 depending on how lazy I am. Never been stuck on the beach, only got stuck once(first time ever with these tires) this winter because I got hung up on the diffs. I was crawling(like 1-2mph) through a snow bank and got hung up on the front cradle and rear diff. Got pulled off easily, then went back through at about 5-10mph and was fine.

As long as you stay smaller than a 31" tire you'll be fine.

Never even noticed that you're on the island. Where on LI? I'm always down to meet up. I have a small group with a few KKs in it, that meet up pretty often and love to hit the beaches. This is me and one of the members KKs. She has a 3.5" tommudd lift and 265/75-16 Kumhos

Thanks for the info onebadstv. Any photos? Do you have any lift? Any issues with random ESC activation, acceleration, rubbing, etc. 265/65R18 is pretty big at ~31.5"diameter and 10.7" section width.

I do have pic's, but can not figure out how to post them! I have the Econo 3.5 lift, no rubbing and the ESC does go off hear and there. Will work on some pic's.
