Hello all,
I am about to change the origional glow plugs in my 2006 kj. My question is , are all the aftermarket plugs available now metal or are the ceramic tip style still around. When I have asked online sellers which one they sell they don't seem to know what they sell..

They have the Etecno 7 volt metal plugs and the Bosch 5 volt metal plugs.
Ceramic plugs are no longer available.

Yes only metal tip are being sold now. IDparts.com is the best source for that. you can get either the 7v or 5v, the Bosch 5v I was told are considered a little better in reliability. but you will need a new relay and computer flash to use them since the origanal system is 7 volt. If you have a GDE tune and still have the programmer box that's an easy fix as you can get a tune update for like $50 so that you will have your tune with the software for 5 volt plugs. if you dont have a GDE tune, and dont want to go to the dealer for a software update id get the 7 volt as those are a direct bolt in replacement.
