If we installed the Weeks kit, can we get rid of the Provent? Previous owner placed it on passenger side where it belongs, I think. It has one hose which goes to a large diameter valve of some kind on the top of the motor. One hose goes down the side of the motor. Is it as simple...if we can remove it...as connecting the valve on the top of the motor to where the bottom hose goes on the side of the motor?
Reason for the question is that its really in the way, especially since we now need to remove and replace the crankshaft sensor on that side of the motor.
Thanks for any help in advance.
Do not remove the ProVent, all Jeep CRD engines should have one on them if the owner has not already installed one!!! They should have been installed in the factory to start with....
The outlet pipe of the ProVent should be connected to the turbo intake boot to provide some negative pressure on the CCV for it to function correctly! The ProVent will filter out any liquids and catch them which will allow you to drain them out periodically.
EHM mode is BAD!!!
Read this thread and make your own decision, it is kind of long but very informative.
