Can anyone help me identify where this heat shield came from? Its rectangular and roughly 15" long and 5" wide. I was driving slowly when I heard a whine coming from the rear wheels. I pulled over and this was resting near the rear passenger wheel and it wasn't attached to anything. I don't know if I ran over it and it came up or it fell off the car. When I do a search for a 2011 heat shield all I see is the fuel heat shield which I can see is still on the car, and obviously a lot larger.

If I could figure out how to load a photo I will.

Thanks!

See if there was an attachment for the heat shield on the body just above the catalytic converter or above the muffler. There may be one between the muffler and spare tire as well.

Most likely above the muffler, if not that check by the spare tire.

My OEM muffler has a shield held onto it with large straps.

I think that should be it. The 2011 just hit 39K so its all original, I guess the straps broke. I'll get some new straps.

Love the site! Thanks!

Idk if it's just 2011s or what, but my '11 with a little over 60k miles sucks with the heat shields. The metal one over the muffler hangs every now and then, I've bent it back up numerous times, but it really needs to be screwed back. The fiberglass style insulation started shredding. The bit above the cat even caught on fire once. Only smoldered which I put out and cut the bit off after everything cooled down. Oh well, guess my passenger's feet will be a little warmer. The finance won't complain in the winter I guess.

Your welcome. I did a muffler swap and did not install it on the new one.
The kids in the backseat never complained their feet were hot...
