Our Commander has a Hemi and the same transmission. The transmission in the Commander is smooth as glass. It doesn't shift nearly as hard as my CRD.
The Commander has the NAG-1/W5A MB tranny not the Dodge tranny, or at least the 3 I have looked at did including the one I drove. You also have the select or manual shift option with that trans. That's the tranny I wished they had used in the CRD, and not the 545RLE that we have.

C'mon guys, can you please find somewhere else to discuss your previous vehicles. I'm having this thing done tomorrow and hoping that nothing bad will happen.

That's cool, but I'm not sure how a wandering thread will affect the outcome. :?
By the way my threads have been hijacked too, life goes on.

Got mine done today. While I was there I told the dealer I would like the transmission filters for the TSB done, they checked it out with DC and quickly replied OK so that was done too. Runs fine now and no "dieseling" as others had complained about.

Cowcatcher, just wondering what the build date is on your Libby? I asked the service manager today if there were any other TSB's or updates and he said no. Maybe you have an earlier '06. Thanks. :)

November '05 sometime. If you check the TSB's for the transmission flash and transmission filters though I think you will see that they are based on transmission build date not vehicle build date. My transmission was built in late August '05 as I recall so so there could be several months between the vehicle build date and the individual components.

Another important issue is you need to figure it out yourself and be proactive with a lot of dealers. There is no incentive for them to be proactive on TSB's as they are not recalls. Generally they would not be done unless you threw a related code or experienced a related issue. I would like to think my dealer would be proactive but I don't want to give them an opportunity to disappoint me so when I see it here and it looks like it affects me I bring it to their attention.

Ok now you have jogged my memory. remember reading about the tranny filter TSB and it does go by the build date of the tranny. Mine was the end of Jan, '06. Thanks for the info though and I know what you mean about the service dept. not being proactive. :)[/quote]
