If removing the battery from your Fob stopped the issue. Then you need a new Fob. Get one from E-bay, take it to a local locksmith and have it cut. If you have 2 original keys you can program # 3,4,5,6,7,8 on your own. (Once 8 are in the system, a dealer will have to remove them, in order to program new ones.)The instructions are in the owners manual. If you only have 1 working key, a locksmith can usually program in a new one a lot cheaper then a dealer will do it for. I just bought 3 keys (E-bay) 1 for my rig and 2 for my father-in-law, had his 2 cut and programmed by a locksmith. Total cost for him was around $90. Mine, I programmed myself. My cost was $14 for the E-bay key + $7 to have it cut. I had to wait for 10 days to get the keys from China, but hey, they worked...
The other problem with the master switch could be dirty, corrosion, etc. If you are brave, you can try taking it apart and cleaning the contacts. But forewarned, they can be a bugger to get back together correctly.
