Hooooly Moses!

Except for missing one rear seat headrest, I don't think you could get any more dealer-new condition that this anymore!

It seems that all the pristine Libbies are on the wrong coast!

Anyone wanting a super low mileage CRD should snap this up.

I wouldn't be surprised if Geordi knows this one.

Nope, I don't know that one, but it certainly looks like a nice clean Jeep. I don't know if it is worth that kind of coin though unless you find the right buyer. I can guarantee that you would want to TRAILER IT to wherever it is going, b/c that timing belt is probably aged to dust! 29k miles in 11 years? That is only 2600 miles a year, I'd also wonder if they ever changed the fuel filter!

For reference... My RV is a 2003 (2002 chassis which is normal to be a year off) and has about 83k on it. I bought it a couple years ago, and have only personally put about 900 miles on it - half of that is this week driving away from the hurricane! While leaving yesterday, I started getting bucking and hesitating and a warning light (that literally said only "warning" and nothing else)... So I turned around and went to a Pilot station to change the fuel filter. What came out..... Looked like rusty stormwater! This tank had been last filled when I bought it, and was tip-top full b/c the fuel sender had failed. When adjusting the new one, it got coated in slime. Yuck. I'm burning down the tank now, rather than fill it up partway, to try and minimize the contamination. I will probably also have to change the filter again. I also used a full jug of ClearDiesel - first time I've ever used that product, but the results have been immediate, no further troubles so far.

So I would be concerned about much the same situation with this CRD - what exactly is in that fuel tank, when was the last time it was filled?

That's a very good point.

A lifetime ago when I was in college (Klamath Falls, OR) the winters there would usually hit literally overnight. One year I went to bed when the temperature was around +45F, and woke up the next morning to -40F and 30+ mph winds. It stayed that cold for 3 weeks. Every diesel powered vehicle that wasn't kept inside or left running (mine included) had fuel the consistency of jello with clumps of paraffin in it because the refineries hadn't switched to winter blend fuel in time for even the truck stops to switch over. There were over 200 OTR heavy trucks stranded with jelled fuel in town. The stuff that got my VW diesel going again is now called https://www.essentialube.com/fuel-improver.html PowerKleen Arctic. Back then it was just Hydrotex Essentialube. A snowplow driver told me about it that year. I haven't needed it since I moved from there, but I started using it from Halloween through April Fools every year after that. Never had any problems with gelling after that.

I'm not familiar with ClearDiesel but it's good to know it works if I need it.

Even still, if you buy something like that one should count on complete fluid and filter change just to be sure what ya have.
