I don't know why they worded it the way they did. It's a vacuum-actuator, in this case it controls the VNT's variable veins, rather than a traditional wastegate.

The turbo comes with a brand new OE-spec vacuum-actuator.

But this leaves us with the dilemma that, from a buyer perspective, the Sasquatch brand has zero credibility or history in the turbo market. You really need to use the reputation and pedigree of your partner to bring that credibility otherwise you're offering is hard to differentiate from Stigan and leaves you both behind Garrett as the only real credible offering.

Nailed it.

OK guys, in the interest of 100% complete transparency, email.me and I'll tell you who builds them for us.

They are well-established in the Duramax, Cummins and Powerstroke markets, known for turbochargers, transmissions, fuel systems, etc.

Thanks for the information, it is helpful.

Should probably make an upgraded version with a turbine from a GTB2056VK ;) Good for 250 hp and we will have less back pressure.

Or adapt a Garrett T04E-50. Good for 400hp, and gives you a rebuild-able center section with dual ball bearings and water cooling.

I have an adapter from that guy on Ebay that I think would fit that to our manifold. I bought it just in case. But thats a huge turbo if I am looking at the right one. I would really like to stick to a VNT though for the lowend.

I'd like a ball bearing water cooled VNT/VGT in a similar size to stock.

Dieselguy has his in the works thought which should be pretty awesome and drop in.

GTB2060VKLR or GTB2260VKLR for garrett factory ball bearing VNTs

Yeah I have been intrigued by Dieselguy's project.
That turbo (T04E-50) is oversized for a 2.0L gas engine, so the turbo part is similar, but not a variable type. The cast center housing is a bit larger though to make room for the water passages and double ball bearings. Nephew recently dropped one in his 92 MR2. 428 rear wheel hp.
Not exactly a bolt-in for a CRD.

Kills me I paid almost $1200 for an OEM one before the Sasquatch one came out :banghead: less turbo lag sounds like a winner to me, but now I'll wait to see what dieselguy comes up with. I'd get the GDE one, but too much for me. Won't diesel guy's need a custom tune anyhow making it nearly as expensive as GDE'S?

has anyone got reports of how much improved the lag is on the Sasquatch?

Nice jeep masshole! I wondered if you were ever going to update that

The GDE turbo kit also requires a stronger torque converter to handle the 400 ftlb of torque. If not during the install, at least within a year of so depending on how much go pedal you enjoy. It is a Garrett VGT with REA vane control, basically the best compromise of power-torque-low end response.

GDE is 100%+ correct re their turbo and torque converter. The first full throttle acceleration after my install produced massive shudder instantly on the OEM torque converter however I drove it gently for like a month with no shudder before getting my SunCoast torque converter so yes you could drive for a while on the stock torque converter.

I see your turbo is now again listed as available online, I had previously excluded it because it showed not available.

Having not paid much attention to it in the past your website is a little lacking in details. Am I missing something where it shows more information including install information?

Mos of the info is on our forum at the link below:

We built a few more as there have been several inquiries about it in the last couple months.

Thanks, I think I got what I needed to out of that - However your install PDF no longer works, I wouldn't mind seeing that to see the details.

We will try to get that link fixed tomorrow. Unfortunately we just sold out again in 3 days. We have ordered more turbos and will build a few more in the new year.

Sounds more like fortunately for you. Selling out of stock at the price you want sounds good to me!
