Ok so my dealer put it on twice so far up front. 1 CV Boot torn and 4 to 5 hours labor down the tubes.
Just to be sure all parts are right:
- The coil spacer for the front mesures 2.5" on the outside under the coil and 3" on the inside under the coil. That seems rather high to me... That is the heigth directly under the coil itself on the left and right side. Right side being inside towards engine compartment.
- The top plate mesures 1.5" from top to bottom.
- One thing my mechanic noticed is the stem cushions. He said they appeared to be thin: The portion that is supposed to go inside the hole of the top plate and cushion around the shock pole. He thinks the two might be seperating and the shock pole is coming in contact with the inside of the top plate hole. Metal to metal... making noise. Possible?
- Factory Coil spring would be part number 71765 52128877AB for a 2005Liberty Sport. When recompressing the springs he said they were not loose. Nice and tight.
- Clevis was never un-done and is very tight. Sway bar bolts tight. A-arm bolts tight. 4 Top plate bolts tight
The order in which he installed the components:
Lower Coil spacer.
Spring on top.
Inserted washer in shock boot and put on.
Big metal factory washer bevel down.
Stem cushion with small part up to fit in hole in top plate.
Top plate with the factory rubber around it.
Stem cushion facing down on top of plate.
Big metal factory washer.
Nut.
??????????????????? Must be something simple??????????????????????

Any ideas? Nothinmg seems to be binding but angles seem steep.
Thanks guys!
