You will notice that the LT versions of any tire, have stiffer and stronger sidewalls, and usually a tread compound that is more dense, intended for pickups, so they can carry heaver loads without the tread squirming about from being compressed too much.
Used on a vehicle that doesn't haul so much weight, the are often a more harsh ride as every little bump or groove on the road surface is transmitted to the vehicle without the absorption a normal non-LT tire would provide.
An LT version of a tire, being a harder tread compound also tends to lose traction a bit sooner than a softer non-LT version of the same tire, when driving a light or unloaded vehicle on slippery roads. (wet / ice / light snow) so if these are things you encounter in your area, its something to consider.
If you do rock climbing or off-road trails a lot, the thicker sidewalls of the LT version can save you from stick or rock punctures, and allow you to lower tire pressure a bit more without so much risk of losing bead seal.
An LT version of the tire can also last more miles before wearing out. This, we often hear, is not a problem with the DuraTrac, as many report 80-90 thousand miles or more. Very unusual for an off-roaded Sport-Wheeling Vehicle.
