So I usually grind the living hell out of the starter in the winter time if I forget to plug the jeep in. Last time I managed to get it started on a sunny day the car ran for some time then just died(I didn't observe it die as I wasn't there).
However when I went to start it again and turned the key to ignition it cut in and out as if a connection was loose to the battery. Now when I try to start it, I can put it in ignition then turn to start and it just blinks like the power goes away when I try to start it.
Any ideas ?

Battery has shorted internally (bad) or one of the battery cable connections on the battery posts are loose or bad not making a proper connection...
Have battery tested (load test) and try cleaning and tightening post connections real good!

I had two batteries, one of them died in the winter. The battery genius wouldn't charge it anymore, this was the new one. Then I went back to using the old one I had before doing an alternator change ... I did grind it pretty good. I unfortunately don't have a bat tester but I can tell the leads are good and tight. Ill have to buy another battery and hope for the best.

Any way to recondition or reuse the old bats ? with solar or something ?

Take the "good" one out of the vehicle and bring it to any auto parts store. They all have battery testers and will test a battery for free, unless you live in Commiefornia. I'm sure they'll want $50 and your first born child. I think most stores take the old battery as a core if you buy a new one from them. I've been lucky and only ever had to buy 2 so I don't remember exactly. There's not much you can do with old batteries unless you want to disassemble and rebuild them which would cost more than a new one and is considered incredibly dangerous. Bring them along and have the parts store dispose of them while you're there. That's the responsible thing to do.

Due to your description that your vehicle started, then later died, (probably due to low battery voltage), if a new, or charged battery again starts your rig, get your alternator tested as well. It sounds as if it's not performing sufficiently.
