I have a 2006 Liberty with the 2.8CRD & I love it so much I bought an 07 Grand Cherokee with the 3.0 Turbo Diesel for the wife. I have done the Weeks EGR removal & am running a custom tune. I am now wanting to add a cold air intake to help pick it up even more. Sadly I can find no direct fits. I was hoping K&N had something. Does anyone have any recommendations? I saw that there is a make-it-yo-damnself pipe kit. Not sure of quality though. Thanks for any help.

Made this mydammself.
Quality is pretty darned good if I do say so myself :P
Although it doesn’t have a place for the MAF sensor.
And it gets pretty hot under the hood so I’m not really sure it’s a “cold air” intake.
But it’s a heck is a lot cheaper than anything K&N would sell.

Looks good to me. I think I will give that a go. I don't have my MAF hooked up anyways.

If using the stock turbo inlet hose, the hose inlet is 3 inch diameter.
So a 3 inch pipe and conical filter will fit there.
However, you are likely to find that hose to be torn at the bottom near the turbo end.
And if it isn't, it will be eventually.

So I used silicone elbows that are oil resistant.
The turbo inlet is 2.25" diameter.
My conical filter is 3" diameter.
I used a 2.25 to 2.5" 90 degree elbow, a 2.5" pipe, a 2.5 to 3" 90 deg elbow, and a 3" pipe.

There are several ways to do it.
