[Postimages link went sideways during edit: Re-linked 3-posts below. Sorry]
A bonus of the Pioneer 3500avh I just installed: back-up cam input. Along with installing the cam as a hitchguide, it would be cool to rig your trailer with L/R cam-feeds to monitor tires/bearings (though that would require a split-screen processor).
Towards short-haul heavy-towing & tractor-duty, I also installed a 7-spade connector w/brake controller & power supply:

<PICS DOWN 3 POSTS>

If you prefer the ability to view your cam/vid inputs with vehicle in motion, compatible head units require that you ground the feeds intended for the p-brake and "Park" switches.

Both Head Unit & Cam purchased during Nov. Consumer Sharknado:
@ Newegg: Pioneer AVH-3500NEX 7" 1-DIN DVD Receiver w/ Motorized Display $400. During install I barely bumped it's frail fn single rotary-knob, busted-off:$37! Maybe Crutchfield would've replaced it, but not newegg.

Camera@Bezos: RAAYOO L002. Waterproof? Fine question! Given intended for ext. mount, I'd assumed yes, but at $20 I may be in for some bad news next boat launch.

That's a great addition. :JEEPIN:

Curious, is the camera somewhat water resistant?

I wonder if an old mobile device like a iPad could be used instead of the Pioneer display. Lots of old mobile devices available for CHEAP in online classified ads and marketplaces.

If it serves the function, cheap is good.

Cheap is good, but only if it is reliable and it functions properly. Ask me how I know.
