Glad that fixed your problem! Would be interesting t look inside the turbo and see what the issue was; vane movement, bearing or blade problem, etc...

As to the ECM, it does have its own internal ground circuit that goes to a ground lug on the body of the Jeep. G100
I would suggest you check all your grounds in the engine compartment very closely for good connections.
I do not believe the ECM should be obtaining it's internal ground by it's mounting bolts. :shock:

According the FSM, the ECM is grounded internally by circuit G100 which it shows as the a ground lug on the firewall.
But we have found some mistakes in the FSM, so I would still check ALL the grounds including the lug on top of the fender behind the left headlight and all the others in the engine compartment just to be on the safe side.

I may tear the old turbo open and check it out. It does seem a little harder to turn than the newer one so maybe it was a bearing issue.

Ok thanks I will check the grounds. Hopefully I was just seeing things lol!
