Hi Guys,

So after a lot of thought, I've decided to pull the engine block and transmission.

I've already ordered the newer oil pump and intend on getting the sun coast torque converter.

I'm just not sure about which transmission overhaul kit to buy.

My rig is primarily intended for towing a travel trailer... so longevity would be an asset.

Any suggestions?

How heavy is the trailer?

Do not over look the cooling system. Be sure your fan clutch is working properly, and consider an upgrade fan clutch with a fan that can pull more air. WWDiesel discovered the there are GM parts that are a perfect fit, are heavier duty and apparently are less expensive than the O.E. parts. The Hayden fan clutch has been known to have quality control issues.

Just trying to decide between different kits....

Confused on how some have different number of pistons and some say years "05-06" whilst others say 2006+

I ordered from PATC, I'm doing a full rebuild on mine with all alto red eagle frictions, kolene steels, and the sonnax upgraded overdrive housing kit.
