[*]The rear swing/tailgate on my '06 CRD (prod date 1/06) is damaged and needs to be replaced.
I have been perusing my local pick a part for the last year or so and finally found a perfect replacement
having the same body color. The caveat is that the replacement gate is from an '04.

I recall reading or hearing from someone that the replacement process is not as simple as swapping one
gate for the other, i.e., it is not a plug and play scenario. If my dim memory serves me, I recall the BCM
in my '06 will not recognize the '04 rear gate.

What is the procedure to adapt an '04 gate to my '06 CRD? is success achieved by simply harvesting the
harness from my '06 and installing on my "new" 04 gate? Or, does it also require shifting my '06's door handle
mechanism, window catch switch and wiper motor to the '04 donor gate?

Anyone do this swap?
