Just recieved two new front spacers from daystar seeing as how the ones I got off of Ebay seemed to be too tall. Right now on the Liberty I have pretty tall spacers that lifted the Jeep up 4 inches but its making a racket. Metal on metal. Might be preload on my springs is now too high... thats why Daystar sent me new spacers...

How high are your front coil spacers for your 2.5 inch kits? The new ones Daystar sent me are 1" at the smallest part and 2" at the highest part. These do not have a little piece of rubber protruding like the other ones though to keep it from bumping the control arm.

I ask beacuse some on these forums stated that to get 2.5" of lift we did not need a huge spacer.

Thanks guys! :)

it because of the geometry of the front end that the spacer is small, over the top 2.5 is only like 1 3/4 tall so i guess you are talking about a poly spacer so it makes since to me. i havent done the clevis lift so im not really sure but somebody will make it clear for you ,its like 3/8 inch will gain you double that in lift

This whole lift thing is just frustrating. The Jeep looks great and I get remarks all the time but... it clanks! I went on the Daystar website and the new Poly Coil spacers they sent me are for the 1.5" lift. I compared the part number (M03365) to thier instruction sheet. So according to that I have the right ones on now... but seems too high and metal clunks from the front?!?!?! It takes about 2 hours to undo and re-install the front end at the dealer so I am real hesitant to go with the lower spacers IF that is not whats making the noise... time will tell. :?

Maybe too much prelaod on the springs according to Daystar... :?:
Sway bar... :?:
Rubber stem Cussions not doing thier job... :?:

is your spacer in the coil or over the top strut plate?

the contact is probaly the a arm or balljoint hitting the coil

It's the rubber spacer under the coil spring along with a top plate. The top plate comes down a bit to keep the stock length struts despite the lift. I will check what you speak of also...
