I believe that kit is for the chassis wiring side - I'm looking for its mating connector, the one that's "built into" the ECT sensor. :(

I'll look at the FSM again - I guess I missed something. :)

Ah, I see what you're seeing - the sensor ground (I assume) splice. Otherwise looks like a home run from sensor to ECM. Maybe the easier approach here is figure out what terminals are used at the ECM, and then find another housing they go into. Any chance the EDC16 ECM uses a standard Bosch connector? One that might use Amp/TE terminals? That would be delightful. :D

Pin 57 is signal and 65 is ground.

Yeah, but I need to know where to buy those actual terminals, and what other housings they fit so I can build breakout between the sensor and the ECM. Likely, they are not a Mopar creation but some other line of automotive connector.. I just don't know what line.

The ECM is a 96 pins Bosch connector, google it you can find some for sale !

Can you explain for what purpose you want to build a breakout ?

Awesome, then they're surely Micro Timer terminals, and I've already got a terminal extractor and spare terminals.... probably a spare housing too.

I need to read the sensor with another "computer." :)

Edit:

System might microquad lok (MQS) - and it looks like that is also the system for the ECT sensor. DOPE!

Edit 2:

Now having posted that, I remember I figured that out like months ago...

I'm still working on this project, but collected a little data this morning that someone might someday find interesting.

Image

The ECT runs off a 5v reference signal from the ECM. Using:

1. Spare ECT
2. Multimeter
3. Heat gun
4. Torque Pro connected to an OBDLink MX (not shown )

Here's some test points for ECT output:

62F = 3.47v
111F = 2.24v
140F = 1.61v
185F = .93v
200F = .77v
210F = .68v

Theoretically if one did the math, this should match the chart shown earlier.

In case anyone ever wondered, the type of terminal used on many (not all) of the fuel injection components are Bosch Kompact series. The ECT sensor specifically is a 2-circuit Kompact. The chassis-side connector is 1928403874, and the sensor-side is 1928404226. Both are available from a few places, but are not that common. I ordered from:

http://www.cycleterminal.com/bosch-kompact.html

Shipping was slow but eventual. :)

I needed these connectors because I want to make a Y connector and not disrupt the factory wiring... so with one male and one female I can make a little adapter. :)

What is the actual goal of your Y connector ?

I'm running an PWM-controlled electric fan from the ECT sensor... that way I have degree-level control over the fan and I don't have to find a place to install a second sensor. :)

It's been run manually so far while I gather parts and it's amazing. Looking forward to automating it. :)
