Looking for input from anyone that has installed the new fan mount mod sold via idparts and sasquatch.

i know that the oem fan to mount is 100 lbs ft steel on steel,
the new mod being aluminum with steel mount nut of the oem fan
so i bound the mount drive wheel and proceeded tighten the fan ...not sure about running to 100lbs ft
as it did not seems to tight up simply by hand...

anybody run the fan (steel) to the aluminum bearing mount -100 ft lbs?

I installed the Sasquatch fan pulley several months ago and while I disnt use a torque wrench, I did tighten them hard and also used some red loctite on each bolt.

I see NO problem tightening them to factory spec as the aircraft grade aluminum of the new fan idler is simply acting as a large, thick washer...no way its gonna break by simply being pressed between steel.

thank you for the input, i was referring to the fan and the steel nut to the threaded end of the bearing that is in the mount...
the bolts for the mount into the steel block are 33 ft lbs....
the fan onto the fan mount bearing end is 100 ft lbs

Sorry I missed that, but it is generally accepted to reduce torque by about 25% when using a steel nut on aluminum threads.
If using anti seize to prevent thread galling, then torque should be reduced even more so the aluminum threads arent stretched past yield.

Thank you Seafish !, very much appreciate the tech input...i should be good then.

i unfortunately do not have a 1 and 7/16 crows foot , so am not able to post what i did torque the fan to, for other members to view.
as you mentioned earlier regarding the mount bolts, simply muscle tightened the fan.

Anyone want to send me their old steel fan hub, I can rebuild them using oversize bearings. Requires boring housing out to fit new bearings.
Message me if interested. About half the cost of an aluminum one.
