Thank you both!

03black, yes, they've been tested at a diesel shop and came back with positive results...yet ohms at 4. The shop said they could not find the spec so they weren't able to verify the resistance.

WWDiesel, please post your findings. Very much appreciated!

resistance greater than 10 ohms

So, here's the end of this part of the story. There's always another issue right around the corner. But...It's running again!
I took it to an independent diesel shop in Oakland...where it has been for months. Partially because the diesel tech had some life issues ..but eventually got back to it. And partially, because of the diagnosis (bad injectors), I wanted to source the parts myself...which they accommodated. Fault codes, P2149 - injector group 2 supply circuit, P0203 - injector 3 fault, P2146 - injector 1 fault.
I didn't want to believe the injector diag because I had a diesel injector shop test their pattern and function....which was great..but they weren't knowledgeable enough to tell me about the solenoids.
Through the repair shop sources, new ones were $400 each. I got some on FB Market place from a nice guy in Florida for $400 for a set of 4, Bosch OEM, new.
After install, the shop said they had to upgrade some software on the PCM (and maybe their machine?) then re-calibrate the injectors. After that, the engine fired up.
$1,200, 6.8 hrs. That plus my $400 for injectors, I'm at $1,600....and with the other parts I threw at it...probably $3,000.
What a journey. Now I'm going to sell it.
Thanks for all of the advice. Just thought I would close this chapter and provide a little more data to the forum...with some happy closure.
Whatever you have to say about the above data, I just want to say that these guys didn't rape me or pretend to know all of the answers AND because of the feedback of forums like this, a challenge was addressed. Thank you to all of those forum members that contribute experience and technical advice for free. And thank you to those that follow up and give back to community forums.
Anyone want to buy a 2006 CRD with 113K miles on it? Not to mention some upgrades? ;-) Peace.
