I got in on the buy, I explained why to Adam here and he thought I should share my reasoning. My great-grand-father-in-law is a very intelligent man whose opinion I respect more than most....

"I ended up placing an order and not posting. I have steel now, that was lathed out, but after speaking to my great-grandfather-in-law, who was an engineer who designed large bore drills and dealt with shaft collars, he said the integrity of mine was compromised. I guess the way those are desined, there is actually supposed to be a gap between the two pieces like in Eddo's pictures, not Mutts! He also said there would most definately be galvanic corossion unless a multi-step painting process was used because of microscopic pores in the painting process-which I did not do. "

Group buys really ought to last longer than a week. :x Any chance of getting in on it, or is it closed tight?

Hey Troy: This has been brewing for more than a week. You know managing group buys is like herding cats and I admire Adam for making this happen. I think there's enough interest for you to call the guy and start a new group buy though. Adam can provide contact info.

Hey Troy: This has been brewing for more than a week.

I know! The discussion has been going on for months, and I've expressed my interest! But the first post for this group buy went up at about 9:42 am on June 22, with a deadline of June 30. I believe that's pretty close to a week.

Anyway, I'm not really complaining--it was great that Adam put this together so quickly and efficiently, and I understand that some people wanted to get the order off quickly so that they could get the collars installed. It's all good. :) I would just suggest that future group buys be left open for longer than a week.

That's enough about that--I'll work on seeing what can be done, either within this group buy or some other route. And you're probably right--if Adam could gather 25 buyers in a week, it's likely that we could get at least 10 more given a little more time.

Well, I wanted to order it by June 30th, but the truth is you could have called today, July 7th.

The good news is that YOU'RE NOT TOO LATE! Call John tomorrow. yes, tomorrow. He told me he was working on Saturday so he should be able to add to the order as it hits the factory monday morning.

Good luck.

And for the record, this wasn't too bad of a group buy in terms of all the back and forth and BS that often goes with it. Probably because it was a relatively cheap product. But either way, I was glad to be able to help fellow LOST members who are always there for me when I need them.

Please go back to the 2nd post and check the list that John just emailed me. It's got real names on it. If your name is missing, please call John ASAP.

It should take about 3 weeks to get this in. He'll try and rush it, but that's the normal timeframe. I'm not sure why he said orders can still be taken until the 14th, so I'll clarify and post that here.

By the way, 25 for a LOST group buy must be some kind of record. Congrats Adam.

John hooked me up, so I can stop whining now. :D

If there are any other late-comers, you can probably call John as late as noon on Monday to get in this group buy.

You only needed 10 for the discount, there should really be another discount for 25.

The order was placed on friday the 7th. He told me to expect them to arrive here, on Long Island in about 3 weeks. Then I guess he'll resend them out to all you lucky folks who don't live on Long Island, so there's extra ship time there.

John did say he hoped that the bigger order might help get it here sooner (priority order), but didn't want to over promise! I'm hoping he is very cautious and we'll get them sooner.

I guess the answer is, sadly, we'll get them when we get them!

I'll post the moment they come in!

"must be some kind of record"

For both the number ordered in the short time and the fact that most people who raised their hand and went "oooo, ooooo" actually followed through and ordered one. Yeah us! :D

So, if your diff cracks in the woods and your exhaust is to loud to hear it, did it really crack?

The Check's in the mail! Or in this case, the collar is in the UPS.

John emailed me that all the items went out today. He also ordered a few extra (I think he said 4) so if anyone missed out, feel free to call him directly.

Enjoy. Hopefully we'll NEVER know if they work, and we'll never find out for sure that they don't work, if you know what I mean!

You'll be waiting the longest, Mr. Irvine, CA.

But at least you can go surfing while you wait. Oh, and say hi to my sister-in-law. She works in Irvine (lives in Costa Mesa/Newport Beach area).
