I'll be up at the Dunes July 25th with a buddy of mine. He has a rebuilt CJ3B. Would anyone who would like to join?

Where is a good place to mount the flag that is needed for Silver Lake?

You could also fashion one for the top of your CB antenna. I use one like that for the badlands all the time. (Provided you have a fiberglass firestik style rather than a steel whip).

Sounds like fun - have yet to head up.

As for the flag the spare tire is out
The flag MUST be mounted on the front of the vehicle.

If you have a front license plate, you can fab up somthing quite easily.
Flags are available at gas stations in Mears.
I think the flag bolt is 5/8...but not 100% sure.

I had heard that it has to be at the front of the vehicle, but the MI DNR website is not clear about its location.

It just says that it must reach 10 feet in height. Is that from the ground or top of the vehicle?

I have a 3' fiberglass antenna that is mounted on the top of my Rene on the mopar roof basket.

You are correct. THE FLAG MUST be on front of Vehicle.
I would not mess with this, if they do not like your set up, your whole weekend will be spent in the parkinglot.

You can buy a flag in town at any of the atv rental shops. You can attach them to your front tow hook.

I don't have tow hooks. Only front and resr hitch receivers.

on my 05 renegade (w/ towhooks) i took out one bolt from the front tow hook, and added hardware to it... an L bracket, a 7" striaght piece, and another L bracket and the flag mounted to the L bracket... pics somewhere on here, i will try to find them for you... im just not sure if you have the holes threaded in your frame/subframe? like i have.
