Also this post has nothing to do with the kj getting respect or not, it has to do with the atitudes of differnet jeep owners on different forums. These folks take up whole post complaining about jeeps with ifs, which is all but the wrangler. Some people wheel what jeep makes and other wish thier lives away wanting to wheel what jeep doesn't make. They can get pretty mean and rude and thats what this is about, not who likes kj's are doesn't, but bad atitudes in general
I know what you are saying I have heard it all befor
"if it has IFS it can't be a real jeep" "if it works then why chang it"
"IFS was never ment for the trail" blah blah blah
Look the way that the XJ got excepted as a "real" off roader was the same way that any thing else did
people kept seeing them out on the trails
they kept poping up at events and that is what changed minds and made past jeeps accepted
NO ONE has bothered with the KJ as far as doing that insted we do what they want "go away" and keep to our self
why should we?
Look, how many people realy like the FJ for looks? and how much better is it realy than a KJ?
not many and not much at all
but look at the after market for it already, why? because they get out and get seen they wheel their FJ's proudly
They dont complain about the jeep SFA people dont like them so they will stay away its a toyota jeep people dont realy care what toyota makes they have JEEPS
This is why I keep inviting every one to come to the events we hold and the same 50-75 rig show up every time and every time we get every thing but a KJ
so then pople can say "ha KJ ,or any IFS jeep, they aint real jeeps how many of them are here today?"
and then I have to remind them that I have a KJ and I also wheel my KJ some times but I built a TJ to do 90% of my wheelin
Untill they day comes when seeing a IFS jeep out on the trail is common place people will never change
The same things will keep hapening ,no after market and very little acceptance with the other jeep people this is the way of things
