Oh-oh, so now mobil one is bad, and fram filters are bad. So I guess I'll have to stop using them cause I wouldn't want to hurt my old jeep - after all it has 208,000 miles using Mobil One and Fram filters exclusively.
yur not paying attention, mobil one just recently changed, if you used the newer kind from the beginning, your jeep would not be in as nice of condition as it is now. and yes fram filters are about the crappiest on the market.

isnt that what these forums are for? so people with like interests can share useful information with each other?

we dont really care if you feel like putting inferior products on our jeep, thats your problem. we are just here to give you helpful advise. its your problem if you are too proud to accept it. all you have to do is a little research.

I used fram filters for a long time :? But when you actually put one to the test the do sorta suck compared to others. Its amazing the crap some engines will put up with though, I have had plenty of vehicles go over 150K on fram filters and mobil, or pennzoil non syn. And that was with 5-7.5K oil changes after they were broke in. These will get a lot of folks by just fine, But there is better out there.

:D Yea, I remember the pre-internet Pennz days. I hear they spent some major bucks recently upgrading their refining process and they are supposed to OK now. I used em and got well over 100,000 miles on a Izusu p'up. Never did use any oil. Changed every 3000 miles though.

I am a firm believer in full synthetic oils. However, as I just looked it up on the Mobil site, they ARE being vague as to how synthetic the basic Mobil 1 is. However, the Extended use AND the Truck & SUV are stated as being FULL SYNTHETIC. That's cool with me, as I just put in 5-w-30 Truck & Suv Mobil 1. It is the same price nas the basic Mobil 1 in the 5 quart container at my losal wallyworld.
Good luck all, Castrolo GTX is good dyno...
