i just so happened to stop by to get my contract finalized (ive owned the car for 3 months and we are just now getting the contract settled; have yet to make a single payment) and Go Chrysler Jeep seemed to be moving the compasses fairly quickly. A lot of young males who had girlfriends clinging to them seemed to take liking to them. they have plenty of '07 liberties still there, a good portion of soft top wranglers with manuals, no patriots (dealer said they have a shelf life of about 1-5 days...) and almost no compasses left, which has the same shelf life as the patriot. i did get to see a compass with the rally package and its a great lookin' machine. manual tranny feels clunky when stationary but out on the road it was good!! no ones buying grand cherokees it seemed like, since there was a whole back portion of the lot with what seems like hundreds of them, along with the 32 commanders that were back there.
I did not go, but your comment on the commander got me to thinking. As far as I know, they are discontinuing the commander? Maybe one more year? I am thinking that this vehicle might some day get cult status due to its rarity and quirky look. Maybe like the old wagoneers, maybe the wood paneled ones. Just a thought. They do look roomy and comfy, and although kinda frowned upon, I am thinking that in a dozen years that might change. 2cents....
