Anyone have this installed? I just purchased an 09 sport for my wife and the only option my wife wanted that it did not have was heated seats. The dealer offered to have them installed but here is my gripe. The installed called me to discuss the install and said he wants to install the switches on the side of each seat. I think this is stupid and that the controls should be on the dash or on the center console. The installer wanted to argue with me that the seat is the best spot. My reasoning is that the passenger would have to be asked to turn it off when they get out of the car if the driver was going to continue driving so they did not stay on. If the switch was mounted on the dash or center console the driver would have complete control. what are your thoughts?

He probably wants to put them there since thats where they are from the factory.

I added seat heaters to mine and the switches were added to the sides of the seats. Not sure why you'd want to clutter up the dash or console with heater switches but I didn't feel the need.

I got the idea when looking at this thread:

http://www.jk-forum.com/showthread.php? ... eat+wiring

I liked the way it looked, but obviously it would take some skill to have it installed and I would hate to have the dash or console crack. If it cant be done it cant be done, I just thought it may be a bit easier to have direct access. Plus on the KK series the switch is on the dash next to the shifter

I don't recall the brand but they are all essentially the same thing. Shops that install them are going to stock whatever is cheapest at the time. The ones I have feel like thick cotton towels that were washed with a lot of starch.

I installed them along with my leather kit back in 2007 just in time to be fired and have to go to FL. Now that I am back in the Rockies, I am enjoying them all over again. Before I eat breakfast I run outside and start up the engine and flick the heater to "high".

When I get back into the seat..... Good to go.
