When I had recall work done for lower rear control arms, and transmission parking pawl cup retainer bracket I had to go 'round and 'round with Chrysler customer care about NOT replacing my Moog lower ball joints in the front because, according to my dealership, all applicable recall work had to be done in order for their mechanics to get paid for doing the work. The lower ball joint recall was not showing up as having been done, even though the ball joints had been replaced once with "stock" type ball joints, either by the previous owner, or the Toyota dealership's used lot that I bought my Liberty from. I had the lower ball joints replaced by an independent shop, and Chrysler Customer Care reimbursed me...One would think that after cutting me a check for almost $400 that they would show this work as having been done... One of my last statements to the Chrysler Customer Care rep while going around and around about getting my recall work done was "Should I get a lawyer now, or wait until my rear lower control arm breaks and causes me to have an accident? LMAO, when I pulled my Jeep's history through the VIN, it was purchased , and titled in upstate NY, the registered in NC three months later...It never spent a winter in a "rust belt state", but I figured if I get some parts for free, why not? I have a universal frame hitch (Reese Towpower) that has had the center section flipped upside down, so the hitch doesn't hang down so far in the rear, along with a custom/homemade rear bumper. I do not want another hitch, and I hope that doesn't affect me from getting any future recall work done.
