Hi Guys This is Paul, Matt's son. I am sad to report that Matt has passed away today. He went to the hospital last Thursday for a minor TIA and was released. On Saturday, he was complaining of a headache to his wife, Laura and they decided to go to the hospital. He walked in under his own power. After that, he went downhill. Out and unresponsive. He was flown down to Stanford and Laura and I drove down. An MRI showed a massive bleed in the right region of the brain. He was kept alive artificially for the night and day today, but the neurosurgions felt with all certainty that he was brain dead and had no chance for recovery. He passed away about 4:30 today. I will keep you guys posted on memorial services and were to send well wishes to Laura. Thanks and take care of yourselves. Life is fragile. Paul |
