If you paid with paypay you file a claim. Small claims court maybe?

I paid with PayPal and did file a claim but got a reply saying i can only claim up to 40 days from date of sending the funds.

darn :banghead:

What a shame, as jeep fellow member I've in good faith supported RL/Martin and put my money upfront to buy his products, and in return he kicks me right in the teeth as his way of appreciation hence, no refund and no product :(

I'll chime in now with my story, and hopefully some helpful info for those with issues. I purchased front and rear bumpers, roof rack, and sliders all to the tune of $2190 on the weekend after Thanksgiving during his black friday sale. My order was placed on Dec. 1. The website said that his goal was to complete building all orders before Christmas, but they might not ship before Christmas. I heard nothing for two weeks, then I emailed for an update. I received a reply on Dec. 18 stating that almost all materials were in stock to build my order. I didn't question why it took 18 days or more to get steel. He also stated in the email that order should be ready for shipping before Christmas, but if not it would be the week after Christmas. I emailed on Jan. 2 for an update. No reply until Jan. 7. Then he stated that the cold snap and the sale had set him back and that the material to build sliders and roof rack was still not in. I replied that was his problem, and if the order had been done on time, then the cold wouldn't be a problem. I also stated that I would file a dispute with Paypal if the order did not arrive in 45 days (the paypal window is 45 days to the second, I don't know why another person on here said 40 days). He said it would not make it. I called my bank, and here is the part that might help others. MY bank (Wells Fargo) said that I was protected regardless of what Paypal says, and that there was not a time limit. Martin suggested refunding my money for the sliders and the roof rack minus the shipping charge for the bumpers. I said fine, but I was still filing dispute to protect my interest. He said no dice. He then offered to refund entire amount, and rebill for bumpers only. I agreed to this, but I got distracted with life. He refunded, and rebilled, but I did not reply that day, so he cancelled new invoice. So I got my refund. I had not seen all these recent problems, so I offered to still take the bumpers if he wanted to sell, but now he does not reply.

Moral of the story is if it's less than 45 days, file dispute with Paypal. If more than 45 days, or you don't want to screw around with Paypal's bull$hit, contact your bank. My bank would have credited me the entire amount while they investigated.

I really wish someone reputable would make KJ parts. I have an XJ and I have bought several parts from Nate's 4X4. Great prices, free shipping, no drama, and I have never waited more than 2 weeks for parts to arrive after ordered. Nate isn't so great on email communication, but with two weeks or less delivery, who cares.

As mentioned earlier, money was sent to RL/Martin about 2 years ago therefore 40 or 45 days to file a dispute with PayPal is no longer applicable. Also unfortunately my bank will not offer any refund if I authorized the transection via PayPal.

I have no other option but to approach the law and take Martin to court and also sue him for the lawyer's fees

Good luck, keep us informed good and bad. I think your going to have a challenge. Due to moving different addresses (states?) and possibility of business and owner name changes.

People are saying if we complain about people building for our KJ /KK we will lose after market parts. We are members of a forum to help OWNERS of KJ and KK's. Who are we helping when we deceive.
Come on sling the mud !
To those that think they know me or of my transactions, with RL other than what I have repeatedly posted. And I might also say that business transactions are usually considered private. I have found most of my emails. Of course I don't have any phone records. There are threads here. Some have been edited and locked. To those who want to attack my Truths and me for posting every time RL is posted up do so. I will Defend myself. I will post each time the topic RL topic comes up. Those that have praise do! I'm here sharing information good and bad. Attack me, sling the mud.

Although it will be arranged but do you have any info on his whereabouts i,e address, town, city so forth so that i can forward the same to my lawyer. on the other-hand I just got in contact with my lawyer and forwarded the PayPal receipts and all e-mail correspondences with Martin and now he is going to prepare for legal action against Martin personally hence he is the person who I directly dealt with.

Full stories should be posted,
such as what was actually ordered, if it was custom work that took longer or more materials, or was to be made differently etc.
What we get many times no matter what company it maybe, is only part of the full story.
Having been in business before, and knowing what some want you do to, for example charge the same amount for custom one off work then get upset when it doesn't work out, is not right.
Some smaller companies try and please their customers in changing whatever they want, whereas say ARB puts a product out there if you want it OK, if not OK.

Someday we will have no one making products for the KJ/KK line up and then what will we do then.
I know some will have a smart remark on the above, but like I said I've been in business before and have had all types of customers so have already heard it all.
Thank you for your time and now let the thrashings continue

And it appears Jeepologist 2.
There might be others that are afraid to post. I received the last address I posted from a forum user asking not to be identified. They are afraid of abuse by members of this forum. That's sad for a forum meant for KJ/KK enthusiasts.

I'm now in the 2 years frame neither did i get my stuff nor did i get my refund in-spite of many commitments given by Martin he always failed to keep his word, not to mention he's good at plying with words in-order to give false justifications.

last i heard from Martin was October 2013, he then confirmed that he'll arrange refund but as usual he failed to keep his word and from that time he completely disappeared and will no longer reply to my e-mails.

It is now clear to me that the only language Martin understands is the language of the Law hence I've sent him a last warning e-mail to refund my money or else be prepared for the consequences. My lawyer is now preparing for legal action against Martin personally unless he refunds my money immediately.

Martin will be very unwise to think for a second that just because I'm overseas i can't get to him via US laws. In reality my family are US citizens and i happen to have a green card and I'm always in the US.

Paid $500 for a front bumper that hadn't even been started to be made after a year. I gave up waiting and got a refund. Take your money elsewhere if you want a timely order.

I didn't even own the jeep anymore by the time i got the refund. I don't come here anymore but a member asked me to post up my experience i felt it was necessary to warn others to not waste their time and money. Admins can defend their friend all they want but the truth of the matter is that he's a horrible business operator and i was very close to reporting him to the better business bureau, i guess i should have based off of everyone else's(besides tom) responses thus far.

to be put it short, STAY AWAY.

Tom, you have been very helpful on this site. This isn't my first time ordering parts from small companies. I bought the 4" silver package lift from jeepinbyal, which took some time to arrive, but got here in a reasonable time. You and I have different experiences with RockLizard. I genuinely wanted his stuff on my Jeep, and I played by the rules. I posted my full story. The order was a front bumper with brush guard, super sliders, roof rack, rear bumper without tire carrier all ordered directly from his website with no custom requests. Total was $2190 paid in full via paypal when ordered on Dec. 1, no layaway, no deposit, paid in full. 45 days is plenty to deliver. The only mis-step that I made along the way was not re-paying his invoice within 24 hours when he refunded my money 40 days after the original order. All that is in my original post. He even had the balls to say that he was upset that he spent the day working on my stuff only to see it not paid, which at this point I believe to be a lie and I intended on and tried to pay, but he cancelled the second invoice, and even if it wasn't a lie, if he had worked on it when he should have, we wouldn't have had any issue. He basically told me to piss off (although very sugar coated) three days later when he finally emailed me back, so from me he got a 40 day interest free loan, but that is nothing compared to the stories that others have. I hope that no one in the future allows him to delay longer, or if they do, they have some recourse outside of Paypal. Nates 4x4 delivers in 14 days or less with free shipping. I wish I could convince Nate to get in the KJ business. Frankly, I don't give a crap if RockLizard doesn't build another part for any KJ except for those he owes to the people that have paid. Sorry to those who didn't get their stuff or money.

For those considering to deal with RockLizard, prepare to treat him like he is doing you a favor, and find out your recourse before sending payment. Make sure your bank will back you up regardless of Paypal's BS policies, or find another bank. I am happy that I stayed on top of this and did not let it go on for longer than I was protected.
