Full stories should be posted,
such as what was actually ordered, if it was custom work that took longer or more materials, or was to be made differently etc.
What we get many times no matter what company it maybe, is only part of the full story.
Having been in business before, and knowing what some want you do to, for example charge the same amount for custom one off work then get upset when it doesn't work out, is not right.
Some smaller companies try and please their customers in changing whatever they want, whereas say ARB puts a product out there if you want it OK, if not OK.
Someday we will have no one making products for the KJ/KK line up and then what will we do then.
I know some will have a smart remark on the above, but like I said I've been in business before and have had all types of customers so have already heard it all.
Thank you for your time and now let the thrashings continue
Tom, you have been very helpful on this site. This isn't my first time ordering parts from small companies. I bought the 4" silver package lift from jeepinbyal, which took some time to arrive, but got here in a reasonable time. You and I have different experiences with RockLizard. I genuinely wanted his stuff on my Jeep, and I played by the rules. I posted my full story. The order was a front bumper with brush guard, super sliders, roof rack, rear bumper without tire carrier all ordered directly from his website with no custom requests. Total was $2190 paid in full via paypal when ordered on Dec. 1, no layaway, no deposit, paid in full. 45 days is plenty to deliver. The only mis-step that I made along the way was not re-paying his invoice within 24 hours when he refunded my money 40 days after the original order. All that is in my original post. He even had the balls to say that he was upset that he spent the day working on my stuff only to see it not paid, which at this point I believe to be a lie and I intended on and tried to pay, but he cancelled the second invoice, and even if it wasn't a lie, if he had worked on it when he should have, we wouldn't have had any issue. He basically told me to piss off (although very sugar coated) three days later when he finally emailed me back, so from me he got a 40 day interest free loan, but that is nothing compared to the stories that others have. I hope that no one in the future allows him to delay longer, or if they do, they have some recourse outside of Paypal. Nates 4x4 delivers in 14 days or less with free shipping. I wish I could convince Nate to get in the KJ business. Frankly, I don't give a crap if RockLizard doesn't build another part for any KJ except for those he owes to the people that have paid. Sorry to those who didn't get their stuff or money.
For those considering to deal with RockLizard, prepare to treat him like he is doing you a favor, and find out your recourse before sending payment. Make sure your bank will back you up regardless of Paypal's BS policies, or find another bank. I am happy that I stayed on top of this and did not let it go on for longer than I was protected.
